Lolanae sat at her dressing table just looking into the mirror. The house was quiet. Her daughters’ were asleep already. The only sounds she could here were from random creatures out in the night filled Faydark. She picked up her brush and ran it through her long, golden hair. Even though she knew he was not home, she caught herself looking to the sitting chair in the corner. Binuru would sit there and read before bed almost every night. She sighed softly.
“Erollisi, watch over him tonight. Send him my love. I wish we could be together on the day meant to celebrate you. If you could, make sure this kiss reaches his lips so that he may know my love this night.” The elven rogue closed her blue eyes. In her mind she pictured her husband. Curly red hair, bright blue eyes, and standing at minimum a foot taller than her. She reached up on her tip toes and kissed him gently. “I love you,” she whispered. Lola curled up in bed after that. She was soon asleep.

“Good morning, beautiful,” he whispered as he rubbed her back with his hand. The warm roughness transferring through the tunic she wore.
Lolanae startled slightly. She saw Binuru sitting next to her and jumped up. Tightly she wrapped her arms around him. “Am I dreaming?” She asked as she looked around, noticing she was still in her bedroom.
“Maybe we both are dreaming.” He said with a smirk.
“I’ve missed you so much,” Lolanae said, laying her head against his chest.
“I know.” Bin replied, gently kissing her head and running his fingers through her hair. “I miss you and the girls so much.”
“There is so much that’s gone on that I want to ta…”
Binuru interrupted her, putting his finger over her lips. “I do not know if this is a dream, magic, something else, or a little of everything. I do know I want to make the most of it, Lola.” He kissed her deeply, laying her back on the bed. “I love you so much. Your letters are always an escape for me. Tonight it seems our dreams are given us both a chance to escape.”
Lolanae returned the kiss with as much passion as it was given. The two of them made the most of the night. They fell asleep in each other’s arms.

Lolanae woke up as she heard Binuru whisper in her ear, “I love you, flower girl…” On his pillow was a single rose. She picked it up, taking in the sweet smell. “Thank you Erollisi. Dream, magic, or who knows what. Thank you for last night.” Lolanae could hear her girls bickering over something silly. She laughed to herself as she got up to start her day.

Binuru rolled over and awoke as the squire came in to tell him that it was time to begin the next phase of construction in Halas. He sat up and looked about his room. There was a letter on his bedside table. It was sealed bearing Lolanae’s mark – dark blue wax with a picture of a rose. He broke open the seal. In Lola’s soft hand writing it said “Thank you for everything. I love you and miss you. Stay safe out there.”
The paladin looked slightly puzzled as to where the note came from. He kept Lola’s letters in his backpack. “Was that just a dream last night…? Erollisi, what have you been up too? Thank you, for whatever it was.” Binuru got up and began to get dressed. He tucked the note inside his tunic pocket and smiled.
